Creating an AI Color Pairing

Welcome to the Obello how-to series.

In this video, we’ll show how to create color pairings using AI — a fast and effective way to produce a wide variety of on-brand content.

    Why Use AI Color Pairing

This feature is designed to help teams quickly generate fresh, brand-consistent looks across multiple templates.

It works whether your design uses a single image or multiple images.

    Starting the Process

Here we are in the Obello editor.

    1. From the left navigation, go to Color and select Generate Pairings.
    2. When you click Generate Pairings, Obello analyzes the image (or images) on your canvas to identify the dominant color.
    3. It then creates a recommended pairing using your brand-approved colors — the ones already uploaded to your workspace.

    Important

Obello never introduces new colors. Everything generated by the system is always on-brand.

    Choosing a Pairing

Once pairings are generated, you can browse the options and select the one that fits best.

You’ll also have the option to preview in Light Mode or Dark Mode to see how each combination looks.

    Refreshing the Pairings

To see how AI reacts to new visuals, replace the image on your canvas.

    1. Click on the image, select Replace Media, and choose a different one from your library.
    2. Then go back to the Color section and hit Refresh AI Recommended Pairings.

You’ll notice the system immediately picks up the new dominant tones — in this example, reds and peach tones — and updates the pairings to match.

    Controlling Access to AI Pairing

If you’re an Admin or Editor and want to keep your team strictly within approved brand colors, you can disable AI color pairing in Settings → Controls.

    Wrapping Up

And that’s it — that’s how you can create and customize AI-generated color pairings in Obello. Thanks for watching, and we’ll see you in the next video.
